MATHIS JOUBERT
Born in South Korea and raised in France, Mathis Joubert is a French dancer, choreographer, and creator whose hybrid style, rooted in classical ballet and breakdance, has shaped a decade-long international career across Europe, Mexico, the United States, Canada, the Middle East, and beyond. His signature movement language, The BalletBreak, fuses classical precision, musicality, and explosive physicality.
Currently a company member with BalletX, Mathis performs on major international stages including the Kennedy Center, Joyce Theater, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Vail Dance Festival, while touring extensively across the United States and internationally.
As a principal dancer, choreographer, and show director, he has contributed to large-scale productions and high-profile events including the Darley Awards at the Dolby Theatre, Paris Fashion Week, the Riyadh Season Festival (over 110 million viewers), as well as the Antarctic expedition cruise Le Commandant Charcot with Ponant Cruises.
His work also spans film and television, with appearances for Netflix, Disney+, TF1, France 2, and the feature film Astérix & Obélix : L’Empire du Milieu by Guillaume Canet.
Alongside his performing career, Mathis is an established teacher, mentor, and international competition judge. Through The BalletBreak, he continues to develop a multidisciplinary artistic language while sharing his experience with the next generation of dancers worldwide.
