Mathis Joubert presented a solo in his signature style, The Balletbreak, and was awarded the Best Talent
prize
at the prestigious AmsterDans International Competition.
Recognized as one of the leading dance competitions
in the Netherlands, AmsterDans attracts outstanding dancers from across the globe and features multiple levels of competition in classical ballet, contemporary dance, and diverse movement styles.
Mathis’ performance stood out for its originality, technical mastery, and unique artistic identity. Following this distinction, he received numerous invitations from directors and choreographers to train in renowned schools and summer programs. Among them, Igal Perry, founder of the Peridance Capezio Center in New York, offered him a full two-year scholarship.
The event took place on April 29th, 30th and May 1st at the Chassé Dance Studio & Theatre – Compagnie Theatre.
The jury was composed of leading figures from the international dance world, including:

- Laurence Korsenti (National Ballet Academy of Amsterdam)
- Yumiko Takeshima (Capezio)
- Alexander Zhembrovskyy (Dutch National Ballet)

Mathis Joubert won 1st place
in the national competition organized by Carrefour and Jamel Debbouze, receiving a 20,000€ award to develop his project The Balletbreak.
This large-scale initiative, created to support emerging talents across France, brought together more than 220 candidates
from both artistic and professional fields. During the public voting phase, held online and across 115 Carrefour hypermarkets, Mathis’ project immediately stood out, ranking first nationwide with thousands of votes, securing his place among the 20 finalists.
He then confirmed this success at the grand final held at L’Élysée Biarritz on the Champs-Élysées, where the finalists presented their projects before a prestigious jury chaired by Jamel Debbouze
and Éric Bourgeois
(Director of Carrefour Hypermarkets).
Mathis presented The Balletbreak
and won first place overall, receiving the top award and a grant to support the development of his project.
The jury included leading figures from business, cinema, media, and entertainment, such as:
- Arthur Sadoun (Publicis)
- Romain Le Grand (Pathé Films)
- Yannick Bolloré (Havas Group)
- Tonya Kinzinger (Actress)
- Jean-Philippe Doux (TV Host)
Mathis was unanimously selected as the winner, receiving the top award and national recognition for his innovative artistic concept The Balletbreak.
Mathis Joubert was awarded the 2nd Prize
for Senior Contemporary Solo
at the prestigious Prix d’Europe International Competition.
Directors, choreographers, and teachers offered him multiple professional opportunities, including:
• an international tour in China
• an offer to join the Jeune Ballet Européen
• a private audition with BNM Next - Ballet National de Marseille II
• and a full scholarship for the Fall intensive at the École Nationale Supérieure de Danse de Marseille
The jury included renowned figures from the world of dance:

- Omar Taiebie (Director, École Nationale de Danse de Marseille)
- Nicole Chirpaz (Director, AID & Jeune Ballet Européen)

This competition was organized by Capezio, the world’s leading dancewear brand, in collaboration with the prestigious Danza In Fiera International Festival
in Italy.
As the First Prize winner, Mathis Joubert received an all-expenses-paid trip to London, where he had the exclusive opportunity to meet the Capezio team and promote his signature dance style, The Balletbreak.
Held annually in Florence, Danza In Fiera is the largest and most influential international dance event. The four-day festival brings together performances, exhibitions, conferences, masterclasses, and open workshops. Each year, more than 20,000 dancers perform on stage, and 17 international competitions highlight talent from around the world.
